The Programme

This degree should be of interest to those students wishing to pursue a career in corporations within the commercial transactions or business development areas, where legal aspects together with financial elements are of key relevance.

The first year covers the foundation elements of business management. This introductory year focuses on developing the key skills required to study at degree level. You will study six modules and on successful completion progress onto any of our three year degrees. The modules covered will initially enhance your communications skills, digital and information literacy and ability to think critically. You then have the added flexibility of switching your degree programme if another discipline captures your interest, subject to availability and entry requirements.

The programme provides the intellectual underpinnings required for a career in a rapidly changing work environment, a rigorous approach to self-awareness and personal development and a significant exposure to the world of work and its current demands through work experience opportunities.

Through the learning experiences offered, and the skills and competences gained, students will understand effective managerial behaviour developed in today’s complex organizations and turbulent business environments. Some of the Law modules will be shared with LLB students.

Students will also have an opportunity to qualify for the CMI Level 5 Certificate in Management and Leadership, dependent on successful completion of relevant modules.
